Archbishop Carolus Alden after the defection of Daneb and the orthodox priests. When Mallick Vitalian and the Arathi Freedom Movement attacked Stromgarde, Thales rallied to cathedral of the city to protect the Archbishop. There, the orthodox leader Duokas led an attack against the cathedral. Alden was killed, but Eldengar Trollbane and his soldiers managed to rescue Thales and leave Duokas dead.
Eldengar and Thales managed to escape to Stonehold.
