Magna Scavell of the Order of Tirisfal was the Guardian for several centuries, starting around more than a millennium prior to the First War. He often dressed in very subdued clothing to hide his true power.

Presence in Kul Tiras

During the Great War, he intervened in the affairs of Kul Tiras to stem the machinations of the powerful demigod Phorcys and to prevent the radical paganistic genocide of Lightists in the nation. He attempted to interfere, but when Phrocys began to suceed in his takeover he fled to the town of Seashire. There, he sought an alliance with the Crimson Cabal, but he was taken by surprise by the Eels of Kul Tiras. Unprepared and underestimating them, he was captured and imprisoned in a Kul Tiras prison.

He was eventually freed from prison by a coalition of forces including his fellow members of the Council of Tirisfal. Again empowered as Guardian, he participated in the Battle of Boralus. As Men’heva led his fleet of half-trolls from Zul’dare to attack the island of Kul Tiras, Scavell engaged him in one of one battle. In an epic confrontation, Men’heva defeated Scavell when he slashed the Guardian in the stomach with Zin'rokh. Before Men’heva could finish him off, Phorcys attacked Men’heva.

Injured, Scavell was knocked into the water. Kithros pursued him and dragged him to shore, where he was healed by a Makrura shaman at the behest of Bullba.

After the battle was over, the attention of the Council of Tirisfal turned to the Scroll of Lore. Feeling that it was too dangerous for Anazar to keep it, Scavell endeavored to reclaim it from her but Phorcys felt this act was a betrayal and escaped with the Scroll to Dalaran.

Pursuit of the Scroll

After Anazar escaped with the Scroll, Scavell traveled with the Council to Fenris Isle in hopes of convincing Ravenholdt to assist them in retrieving the Scroll of Lore. Myrokos Silentform, acting leader, agreed to help him. To these ends, they planned an assault on Dalaran
